Android handsets have seen an update today that adds Places pages, in addition to new search results. Luckily, BlackBerry users shouldn’t be left behind for too long, as a blog post on the Google Mobile Blog states the new features will be coming to BlackBerry soon. Bolt Browser Gets Update to v2.11, Corrects Bugs and Improves Twitter

Last week we let you know that Opera Mini saw a small update for lower end devices, one which appeared to have had little effect on BlackBerry users. It seems Bitstream has decided to push out an update of their own for the Bolt browser, which aims to correct specific bugs and concerns reported through user feedback. According to the official press release, v2.11 addresses server response times which caused some websites to hang at the 20% loaded mark.

Opera Mini 5 Updated to Version 5.1

Opera Mini 5 has seen it’s first official update since it came out of beta, bringing it’s version up to 5.1. According to the official Opera blog, the update further improves browsing on phones with limited memory, and includes a new optimized browser skin allowing more pages to be opened at once, more rapid scrolling, and overall improved browsing performance. While the update isn’t critical for high-end devices and has really been implemented for users of handsets like the Nokia 5310 or Sony Ericsson W810i, BlackBerry users should probably still update to ensure the best browsing experience possible.
